All about Jasmine Tea

There are many types of tea. And alongside the classic blacks, greens and reds, the variety of flavours is growing too. Perhaps the most interesting among them is jasmine tea. As unusual as it is delicious, it’s a drink that’ll delight lovers of the most exotic flavours. But how is jasmine tea made? And what are its benefits? In this post, you’ll find out.

HOW TO MAKE JASMINE TEA

Although it’s easy to make jasmine tea, for a perfect brew it’s important to bear a few things in mind.

If adding it directly to water, the first thing to do is bring the water to a boil. When it starts to boil, turn it off, fill your pot or cup, and then add a teaspoon per person, or a little more depending on how you like it. If you want a more intense flavour, let it steep for longer.

To make jasmine tea in an infuser, fill it with a teaspoon of tea and put it in the teapot or cup. Then add the hot water and infuse it.

And if you want to save as much time as possible, while still enjoying a quality tea, you can make your own tea bags with our loose leaf tea. You can find them in tea specialist shops.

JASMINE TEA PROPERTIES

Tea in general is a very healthy drink. But what is jasmine tea good for in particular? Being a green tea with added dried jasmine petals, it has some fantastic properties.

Jasmine tea is a great antioxidant. It prevents the premature ageing of cells and helps us stay healthy and fight illness.

Jasmine also contains some fantastic health properties, including the following:

- It helps combat stress.

- It controls cholesterol levels.

- It lowers the risk of diabetes.

- It helps tackle bad breath. A good alternative to industrial products dedicated to treating the issue.

SOME CONSIDERATIONS WHEN MAKING JASMINE TEA

When making jasmine tea, the first thing to keep in mind is the quality of the product. If you want to enjoy its aroma, flavour and properties to the fullest, you should forget about teabags and choose a good loose leaf tea.

It’s also a good idea to experiment a little with both the quantities and the steeping time to find the intensity of flavour you like best.

And if you want to sweeten it, there are several options. Brown sugar or panela give it a very distinctive touch, while stevia is perfect for those who don’t want to add the extra calories but don’t want to resort to artificial sweeteners either.

We also can’t recommend iced jasmine tea highly enough, an excellent alternative to industrial soft drinks when summer comes around and the temperatures rise.

And here’s a tip: enjoy one to two cups a day to reap the health benefits in the medium to long term.

For people looking for a unique tea with Eastern aromas and beneficial health properties, jasmine tea is a great option. In the end, jasmine tea wins everyone over.
