Chamomile tea owes its numerous health benefits to one compound in particular: chamazulene, an aromatic chemical compound with anti-inflammatory properties that also contains flavonoids, powerful antioxidant substances.

Possible interactions and side effects of chamomile tea

Chamomile tea is generally not recommended during pregnancy, as it has been observed that in some cases, it may cause uterine contractions. 

Some studies also recommend avoiding the consumption of chamomile together with anticoagulants, or in case of allergies to pollen.
